What Is a Brick Mosaic?
A brick mosaic is a flat picture assembled from small square tiles or plates. Seen from a distance, each stud-sized cell behaves like a pixel, so portraits, logos, pets, and geometric artwork can be translated into physical wall art.
PatternBlend uses an independent planning palette and generic material codes. It does not claim official LEGO color IDs, current production availability, element numbers, or automatic BrickLink compatibility; builders should verify the colors and parts they intend to purchase.
The generated quantity list is exact for the selected grid when each visible cell is built with one 1×1 tile. Baseplate guides divide the chart every 32 cells so large mosaics can be assembled and checked one section at a time.

Can I make a portrait?
Yes. Clear front-lit portraits and pet photos work best at 64 studs or wider.
Are these official LEGO colors?
No. PatternBlend uses independent visual references and does not claim official color IDs or inventory availability.
Can I order directly from BrickLink?
Not yet. The current CSV is a generic quantity list, not a BrickLink wanted-list or element-number export.
Can I use plates instead of tiles?
Yes, if each generated cell is represented by one 1×1 piece and you verify the physical color availability.
Can transparent cells stay empty?
Yes. Transparent source areas remain unfilled and require no tile.
How large can the mosaic be?
The current browser workflow supports widths from 8 to 128 studs.
Can I reduce the budget?
Use a smaller grid and lower Max Colors to reduce both total pieces and color variety.
Can I print the build guide?
Use Print / Save PDF or download the sharp coded PNG.
Can I download a parts list?
Yes. CSV includes PatternBlend material codes, reference names, colors, and exact quantities.
